Dean and Sam (Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki) are surprised to find Garth (DJ Qualls) already on the case of a murder they've come to investigate. He explains that someone had to step in while they were out of commission for the past year. The investigation leads them to an "avenging ghost," whom they must find and stop before more people get killed in the new episode "Southern Comfort."
