CHAOS - CBS VIDEO: "Meeting the Team" NEW series Sneak Peek # 1 Premieres Friday, April 1, 2011 at 8/7C
Rick Martinez meets his new teammates which includes Dorset, Collins, and 'the human weapon' Casey. Catch the series premiere of 'CHAOS' Friday April 1 on CBS!
"Pilot" - After his new job at the CIA is cut on day one, Rick Martinez is enlisted by the CIA Deputy Director to be a mole in a team of unruly agents that he would love to fire. But, when the agents end up getting dirt on Rick, he's forced to play by their rules, on the series premiere of CHAOS, Friday, April 1 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
CHAOS is a comedic drama about a group of rogue CIA spies in the Clandestine Administration and Oversight Services (CHAOS) who combat threats to national security amidst bureaucratic gridlock, rampant incompetence and political infighting. The team tackles high-risk foreign intelligence missions using manipulation, deception and wit to succeed. Rick Martinez was dismayed when his dream job as a spy was eliminated on his first day; however, CIA Deputy Director H.J. Higgins, a calculating mastermind and the head of CHAOS, recognizes Rick's unique skill set and places him as an unwitting mole inside the department. Martinez joins the team under Michael Dorset, a psychologist-turned-CIA operative and a tactical genius motivated by pure paranoia. Working with Dorset is Scottish-born Billy Collins, decommissioned from the British Secret Service and deported from the United Kingdom; and Casey Malick, a 12-year veteran of the agency with an understated demeanor and the ability to transform into a "human weapon." While Martinez's instincts about who he can trust are constantly tested, he seems to have a worthy confidante in the new Deputy Director, Adele Ferrer, who appears to have his best interest at heart. Or, should he rely on officer Fay Carson, an alluring agent and an expert at deciphering people's "tells"? Attacking each assignment with unparalleled confidence and gusto, these operatives perform covert operations, exert political influence and eradicate all manner of evil - and that's just to survive the morning staff meeting.
Cast includes Freddy Rodriguez, Eric Close, Tim Blake Nelson, James Murray, Carmen Ejogo, Christina Cole and Kurtwood Smith.
Guest stars include Rick Overton, Margo Martindale, Alessandro Juliani, Molly Hagan, Ilia Volok, Frank Bruynbroek, Adam Godley, Bambadjan Bamba, John Shaw and Tommy Europe.

... Fringe
(Friday, 9/8c, Fox)
This entire season has been a tour de force for Anna Torv. Doing double duty as dueling Olivias from parallel warring universes, she most recently spent an episode channeling her inner Spock — aka Leonard Nimoy — as the ghostly soul of William Bell inhabited her body for a very clever outing. (In the climax, the dormant Olivia resurfaced briefly, freaking out Peter and the viewing audience.) This week, we're back in alt-world, as the pregnant Alt-livia faces mortal danger from several fronts. It's a very harrowing hour, deserving a far larger audience than it's likely to get, tucked away on Fridays. Fox, stand by this show!

COLLIDER: Walton Goggins Interview JUSTIFIED Season 2
by Christina Radish
Posted: March 23rd, 2011
On the FX drama Justified, actor Walton Goggins plays the intriguing, complex and still completely mysterious Boyd Crowder. Long time friend and ultimate nemesis to U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens (Timothy Olyphant), the extremist turned born-again Christian leader turned mine worker always keeps viewers guessing.
In a recent interview, Walton Goggins talked about the growth of his character over Season 2, Boyd’s own moral compass and code of ethics, his evolving relationships on the show, exploring the possibility of love for his character, and how Boyd is still a definite mystery to him as well...
... Do you think that Boyd has an inner conflict about being true to his word?
GOGGINS: "I think what Graham [Yost] and the writers were able to do this year, and hopefully what I’ve been able to participate in, is the antithesis of the first season, where the viewers never bought that Boyd’s spiritual conversion was for real, until the end. This season, on some level at least, the viewers believes Boyd, but the rest of the people in Harlan don’t believe Boyd. That’s really interesting because I think that the actions that Boyd may take in the future may have a wider margin of forgiveness from the viewers, if they completely understand this guy. We’ll see what happens.
There are things that Raylan does that are not on par with Boyd, but certainly can be construed as immoral and borderline criminal. These two guys are moving closer together, and there are things that happen, as the season progresses. I don’t know that it was necessarily constructed that way, from the beginning, where they found themselves experiencing emotions in different ways, but that were very similar, but that’s really cool. When you’re looking at two different people, in two different worlds, going through the exact same thing, and neither one of them really knows it about each other, that was something that I was excited to read and that I hope viewers are excited to watch. At the end of the fifth episode this season, Boyd had an epiphany. There’s a certain realization, on his part that, that’s like, “Wait a minute, this may indeed be who I am.” It’s not the Boyd from Season 1. It’s not the guy who found God, and then lost God. It’s a guy that is dipping his toes in the water and figuring out who he is. I feel like that’s what Boyd’s been doing since the show began, to be quite honest with you..."

TORCHWOOD: MIRACLE DAY - STARZ: Premiere Date July 8, 2011
An Original Series by STARZ
One day, nobody dies. All across the world, nobody dies. And then the next day, and the next, and the next, people keep aging — they get hurt and sick — but they never die. The result: a population boom, overnight.
With all the extra people, resources are finite. It’s said that in four month's time, the human race will cease to be viable. But this can’t be a natural event – someone’s got to be behind it. It’s a race against time as C.I.A. agent Rex Matheson investigates a global conspiracy. The answers lie within an old, secret British institute. As Rex keeps asking “What is Torchwood?", he’s drawn into a world of adventure, and a threat to change what it means to be human, forever.
“Torchwood,” premiering July 8, stars John Barrowman (“Torchwood”, “Desperate Housewives”) as Captain Jack Harkness, Eve Myles (“Torchwood”, “Little Dorrit") as Gwen Cooper, Mekhi Phifer (“ER”, “Lie to Me”) as Rex Matheson and Bill Pullman (While You Were Sleeping, Independence Day) as Oswald Danes.

BLASTR: Meaghan Rath teases Being Human's season finale—and season 2!
Mar 23, 2011
By Ian Spelling
Meaghan Rath won't come out and tell us—or you—what's in store for the season-one finale of Being Human, but the actress promises that it'll be bloody good.
Rath, of course, stars in Syfy's adaptation of the supernatural British show of the same name as Sally, a ghost who lives with a werewolf (Sam Huntington as Josh) and a vampire (Sam Witwer as Aidan). Season one will conclude on April 11 with "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Me Killing You," which the network summed up thusly [*spoilers ahead*]: Aidan and Bishop (Mark Pellegrino) square off; Nora (Kristen Hager) finds out the truth about Josh; Sally's able to touch.
"I think we're really on a wave of momentum right now that's coming to a breaking point," Rath said on March 22, during an interview at Syfy's upfront presentation for advertisers in New York City. "As the chaos grows our characters are breaking down even more and are hitting these new rock-bottoms, and everything is going to come to the surface pretty soon."
Can we assume there will be a cliffhanger?
"There is a cliffhanger," Rath confirmed, "a MASSIVE cliffhanger..."

FAIRLY LEGAL - ZAAP2IT: Gerald McRaney judges in Sarah Shahi's favor
By Kate O'Hare
March 23, 2011
In "Bridges," the season-one finale of USA's "Fairly Legal," airing Thursday, March 24 (following a morning marathon of earlier episodes), San Francisco-based mediator Kate Reed (Sarah Shahi) gets a seemingly impossible assignment -- settle a dispute in one day between endlessly litigious brothers -- from tough Judge Nicastro (Gerald McRaney).
Being tested by Nicastro is nothing new for Reed, whose free-and-easy style has often grated on the judge's nerves.
But off camera, it's quite a different relationship for McRaney and Shahi.
Sarah Shahi and Gerald McRaney
"I love working with her," McRaney tells Zap2it. "Isn't she the cutest thing ever? And very hard-working. That little girl, excuse me, young lady -- everybody's a little girl to me; I'm an old fart -- but anyway, she is just the most delightful young lady and hard-working, which always impresses me.
"She doesn't take herself seriously, but she takes what she does extremely seriously. I just love that..."

... Question: I have enjoyed your columns for years and now am happy to have a chance to participate. Syfy's Being Human just got renewed!!! I have never seen the original BBC series, but I am really enjoying Syfy's Being Human. At first I was on the fence, but as the episodes have progressed, I have become really engaged by the characters and the storyline. I was wondering if your opinion on this show has changed since it first started? — Rob
Matt Roush: Welcome to the party! I'm glad you're enjoying Syfy's version, and I wasn't surprised that it was renewed. It's a terrifically entertaining premise, and I can see how anyone could get hooked. But I got hooked on the original (and to me, superior) version, and now that it's back on BBC America with new episodes, I don't have the time or inclination to watch both, especially as I don't find the Syfy cast or the production as a whole nearly as compelling. And I'm sticking with that opinion.
I find myself agreeing with Elaine, who wrote in with this critique: "I have watched the BBC version of Being Human since the start and am also into the Syfy show, but the problem is instead of doing NEW shows Syfy is just redoing the BBC ones. When watching a show, I feel like: been there and done that. They changed the names of the characters, couldn't they at least not use almost the same stories? Last week, I already knew the kid was going to get hit and turned into a vamp."

— Rob
