Emma (Jennifer Morrison) is kidnapped by a man who's sanity teeters on the edge of madness, and the Evil Queen (Lana Parrilla) persuades a man of magic to steal something from the Queen of Hearts (Jennifer Koenig), on ABC's "ONCE UPON A TIME," SUNDAY, MARCH 25 (8:00-9:01 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

While searching for a missing Mary Margaret, Emma is kidnapped by a man whose affinity for hats has him teetering on the edge of madness. Meanwhile, viewers will be transported outside of the fairytale land that was for the first time when the Evil Queen persuades a skillful man of magic to come work for her one last time and travel to Wonderland in order to help steal something from the Queen of Hearts.

The actress tells THR what the twist means for her character and what to expect as the series moves toward its season-ender.

For the most part, Meghan Ory’s dual characters -- Ruby and Red Riding Hood – didn’t have much of a storyline on ABC’s Once Upon a Time. We’ve seen her pop up here and there both in Storybrooke and the Fairytale world, but there wasn’t much explanation as to what she was about. But, that changed on the last episode, “Red-Handed...”



... “It was a little bit like ‘Where’s Waldo?’ for a while there,” Ory, 29, jokes with The Hollywood Reporter. “I was so excited. I was just like this is genius. I was pretty happy that the payoff was so good.”

Viewers found out that Red Riding Hood is actually the wolf. And when you look at Ruby’s ‘devil may care’ attitude, the edgy styling – the provocative clothes and red streaks in her hair -- it makes total sense that there’s something “bad” there.

“Red is part wolf and I think it’s definitely going to be a blessing and a curse,” the actress says. “Well it’s obviously a curse for her, because of what happened with Peter. But, I think she’s going to try to make amends for that by using it for good...”


Once Upon A Time airs Sunday at 8/7C on ABC.

MICHIGAN AVENUE: Once Upon a Time's Jennifer Morrison Tells Her Story

Jennifer Morrison has been tasked with saving a magical town in Maine. But with a little luck, she just might end up saving network drama, too.

One fall TV season not too long ago, there were not one but two new shows based on fairy tales unleashed on the public. The people did not rejoice. Fairy-tale drama is a tough sell to the masses who are accustomed to watching youngsters screeching at British judges and trophy wives clawing at each other’s fake eyelashes.

But a hero emerged. ABC’s Once Upon a Time slew its nemesis, NBC’s Grimm, and was crowned TV’s highest-rated drama debut of the season.

The reason? Amidst all the amnesiac princesses, evil witches, stumbling princes, and grumbling dwarves stood Morrison’s character, Emma Swan: a decidedly modern, unsentimental former bail “bondsman” and bounty hunter with a red leather jacket and a cool eye...




... Morrison is a bit of a good-luck charm, picking smart projects she can make even better. She’s the kind of person who seems to attract random acts of kindness—recently she was stuck at a metro turnstile, and a stranger gave her a free card swipe.

But luck has little to do with it, insists Morrison. “So often people say, ‘Oh my God, it happened overnight!” she says. “They don’t see the years of hard work. I love the hard-work part.”

Surely, though, there must be some kind of fairy godmother hovering in the background. After all, most actors don’t have scripts like Once Upon a Time fall in their lap. Morrison remembers the day the cast found out the show had been picked up for a full season. “We were on set and heard the news on speaker phone,” she says, “We walked outside and there was this giant rainbow that ended at our trailer. I have pictures of it! We all said, ‘This is ridiculous. We’re doing a show about fairy tales, and we get a rainbow?’ “So maybe there is such a thing as luck,” says Morrison. “Maybe...”

On the ABC hit show Castle (Mondays, 10 p.m. ET), Detective Kate Beckett is the picture of proficiency. Stana Katic, the actress who plays her, isn’t too shabby either.

The 33-year old Canadian native speaks four languages (and counting), has a penchant for globetrotting, and wants to reinvent Los Angeles one pedestrian at a time through The Alternative Travel Project.

During a break between scenes, she spoke to PARADE about the ever-blossoming tension between Beckett and Castle and all that fan fever over her luxurious locks...



... Q: Do you think Castle and Beckett’s relationship can survive taking it to the next level?

Stana Katic: "I think getting them together soon is pretty justified. Does that mean it’s going to be roses after that? No. There are fantastic complications making for great storytelling after this couple confesses their love for each other..."

... Q: What languages do you speak?

Stana Katic: "Serbian, obviously English, Italian, and French. Some of it I studied and some of it I learned from my home life. My parents are European immigrants. And I think as Europeans there are so many languages in close proximity that it's part of the culture to try to learn at least one other language. So my parents really encourage it in the house. Chinese would be really great to learn — like Mandarin or Cantonese. Portuguese would be incredible..."
