TV GUIDE: Wednesday TV in Review: Get Touch-ed, a CSI Farewell, Face Off and More
Jan 25, 2012
by Matt Roush
... THE LAST HURRAH: When last we saw Catherine Willows in the cliffhanger of last week's CSI, the first of a two-part swan song for Marg Helgenberger after 12 seasons, she was shot en route to escaping a home ambush, telling her boss (Ted Danson) as she climbs into his getaway vehicle, "I'll live." But can she survive what comes next? Find out on tonight's episode (10/9c), as the former showgirl leans on her underground connections (a strip joint as safe house) to stay off the radar of the persistent hit squad on her trail. Who's behind all the mayhem may come as a surprise, but not the unabashed open sentiment among her co-workers as they consider carrying on without their leading lady.

COLLIDER: Yvonne Strahovski and Adam Baldwin CHUCK Series Finale Set Visit Interview
by Christina Radish
Posted:January 25th, 2012
With the two-hour series finale of Chuck airing this week, we can finally reveal that we were on set for the filming of that last episode, where we got to interview the cast and creative team about their experiences. While everyone was clearly proud of their work and time on the show, it was also obvious that they were sad to see it go.
During the interview with co-stars Yvonne Strahovski and Adam Baldwin, they talked about how what is happening between Chuck (Zachary Levi) and Sarah (Strahovski) in the finale is going to weigh heavy on people’s hearts, how they’ve done some really gross and inappropriate behind-the-scenes pranks, how hilarious the teaming of Casey (Baldwin) and Morgan (Joshua Gomez) has been, and how they’ll be leaving with a lot of memories...
Yvonne Strahovski, Zachary Levi and Adam Baldwin
... Q: Yvonne, how do you feel about being the hot nerd on TV?
STRAHOVSKI: "The hot nerd? I’m a nerd, too? I don’t know. It’s so weird. They put me in a pair of high heels in the pilot, and I didn’t know how to walk in them. Now, I do. It’s just that I’ve always been a tomboy, so being thrown into the hot nerd category and the glam thing has been very interesting for me to swallow."
BALDWIN: "One of the most endearing things about Yvonne is that she really is just this rugged tomboy character from Australia who is able to embody that glam, geeky, nerdy thing."
STRAHOVSKI: "That’s very kind of you to put it that way."
BALDWIN: "But, she’s got this behind-the-scenes bawdiness that reminds me of Carol Burnett in her heyday, which is just lovely for a bunch of guys. Movie sets are mostly just guys, with a few ladies sprinkled in to keep us honest."
STRAHOVSKI: "I’m not really a lady. Let’s just say that much."
BALDWIN: "Yes, you are."
STRAHOVSKI: "Really? Oh, okay..."

COLLIDER: Walton Goggins Talks JUSTIFIED Season 3, Working with Daniel Day-Lewis on LINCOLN, G.I. JOE: RETALIATION and More
by Christina Radish
January 25th, 2012
Walton Goggins is one of my absolute favorite actors, and people, on the planet. After playing the always riveting and often explosive Detective Shane Vendrell on The Shield, he went on to accomplish the impossible by topping that performance with his current one as the enigmatic Boyd Crowder on the FX drama series Justified, opposite Timothy Olyphant. And when he’s not on that show, he’s mixing it up with various roles in feature films, in genres that are all over the map.
While at the TCA Winter Press Tour, Collider got to sit down with the intriguing, fascinating and super-dedicated actor for this exclusive interview about the journey that Boyd Crowder will take in Season 3, how his character has finally accepted that this is his life and his making the most of it, what his relationship with Ava (Joelle Carter) has meant to him, and how great it’s been to develop the unique and unpredictable back-and-forth that Boyd has with Raylan Givens (Olyphant). He also talked about the experience of working with someone as dedicated as Daniel Day Lewis on Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln, how much fun he had on G.I. Joe: Retaliation, and how excited he is about working on Django Unchained with Quentin Tarantino, who he’s been a fan of for 20 years...
... Q: Will things between them [Raylan and Boyd] change a lot more this season, especially with the road Boyd is going down now?
GOGGINS: "Yeah. Keep your friends close and your enemies closer. For me, I’m keeping my friend close. For him, he’s keeping his enemy closer. They have such a complex relationship, that every time we get together, it’s different than any other time we’ve ever done it before. Hopefully, that won’t stop. I don’t think it will stop. If you have someone in a town like this that, at the end of the day, you can lean on, then you’re ahead of the game. I think that, underneath all of it, Raylan knows that he can lean on Boyd. There’s a line that Boyd wouldn’t cross. And, Boyd knows the same thing about Raylan. It’s like, “You may arrest me, but you’re going to arrest me in the right way. You may kill me, but you’re going to kill me in the right way.” That we know, and there’s a mutual respect and understanding of each other. That’s gold, for an actor. It is as complicated a relationship as I’ve ever had, on screen or off screen, getting to play this character with Tim’s Raylan. He’s such a good actor and so specific. It’s just wonderful. I’ve really become good friends with him. He’s a really wonderful guy..."

THE MORTON REPORT: Fangs for the Memories: Q & A with Being Human's Dichen Lachman
By Steve Eramo
January 25, 2012
Most children get reprimanded by their parents at one time or another, but unlike most of humankind, the vampire world doles out punishments of a much more bizarre nature. Eighty years ago, Mother, the Queen of the Vampires, ordered her princess daughter Suren to be buried after she misbehaved. In the season two opener of Syfy’s Being Human, Mother had Aidan McCollin (Ian Daniel) dig up her daughter. She has decided to give Suren a second chance and wants Aidan to tame the unruly “child” and prepare her to lead the Boston vampires. Unfortunately for Suren, Aidan’s loyalties have changed, but will she lure him back to the dark side?
Actress Dichen Lachman plays the alluring vampire royal Suren. Born in Kathmandu, Nepal, she moved with her family to Australia in 1989. Half-Tibetan and half-Caucasian, she was 21 when she first became enamored of acting, and since then has appeared in a variety of feature films and TV projects. Her breakout role was that of Katya Kinski in the long-running Aussie soap Neighbors. Lachman is best known to Sci-Fi fans for her work in Joss Whedon’s Dollhouse, and as Lyn Peterfield in the Torchwood: Miracle Day episode “Rendition.”
Last week, Lachman happily spoke on the phone with me and several other journalists about the joys and challenges of playing Being Human's Suren. The following is an edited version of our Q & A with the delightful and down-to-Earth actress. Enjoy!
Dichen Lachman photo courtesy of Syfy
... Q: Can you talk a little bit more about how Suren connects to Aidan's past? I know you can't speak in detail about it, but can you just give us an idea of what we can expect from that?
Dichen Lachman: "Well, it's one of those love-hate relationships. I mean, they have a very long history together, obviously minus the 80 years she was in the ground. The two of them have a complicated past and I don't think their relationship has ever been consummated. There’s a strong attraction with Suren and Aidan, and it’s going to be interesting to watch them together in this modern world, especially with her having been away for so long and him having gone through all these changes and changed his ways. It’s like when you catch up with an old friend who you haven’t seen in a really long time, and Suren is trying to understand those changes.
Suren’s and Aidan’s relationship plays out in the present day as well as the past because there are opportunities in the show to flash back, which is so great. Those flashbacks will help audiences better understand their relationship now..."
