TORCHWOOD: MIRACLE DAY - ACCESS HOLLYWOOD: Q&A: Eve Myles Gives Access The Skinny On ‘Torchwood: Miracle Day’s’ Upcoming Season Finale

By Jolie Lash
September 2, 2011

When it comes to sci-fi heroines, “Torchwood: Miracle Day’s” Gwen Cooper is one of the most intriguing. Tough as nails, foul of mouth and loyal to her family – and her much-loved associate Jack Harkness (John Barrowman) — Gwen Cooper is more than just a tough broad with a soft side.

There are just two episodes left to catch the saucy Welshwoman, played by the captivating Eve Myles, all big, blue eyes, freckles and pure sass, on Season 1 of the show. And while the only word regarding a Season 2 (Season 4, for the diehards who caught “Torchwood” on BBC America) pickup is silence, she too is hoping the series gets green lit for another go-around.

In the meantime, Eve gave AccessHollywood.com the scoop on what to expect in the final two episodes of the sci-fi thriller...

... Access: John Barrowman got in even better shape for his scantily clad love scenes this season. Will Gwen follow suit, or rather, un-suit?

Eve: "I can put everybody’s mind at rest. Not to worry, but I won’t be getting my little Welsh arse out in this series. I don’t want to scare people. She’s heavily clothed, our Gwen, she’s a little trooper. She’s a little old fashioned, our Gwen, and she’s traditional, she’s playful and she’s sexy, but she’s a very private lady. A lot of people would look forward to that — I certainly wouldn’t — but if it ever came along, I apologize for it now..."

Special Labor Day edition, with some thoughts on the highs and lows of the holiday weekend programming:

... SATURDAY

Can BBC America's Doctor Who (9/8c) possibly keep topping itself? After last week's exhilarating encounter with Hitler, a shape-shifting Melody Pond/River Song with poisoned lipstick, and a crew of Fantastic Voyage-like miniaturized crime fighters, a simple case of "Night Terrors" seems like a bit of a relief. In this episode, the Doctor is called in to tackle the monsters in a child's bedroom. Guess what? They're real.

Special Labor Day edition, with some thoughts on the highs and lows of the holiday weekend programming:

... With only two episodes to go, how will Torchwood: Miracle Day (Starz, 10/9c) wrap things up? This penultimate episode jumps forward two months as the embattled remnants of the Torchwood team strike a deal with the devil to track down the "Blessing" and figure out what's behind the "miracle" that has turned the world upside down and sent everyone (including some longtime Torchwood fans) into a depression.

... Torchwood: Miracle Day

10:00 PM, STARZ

Wait, at least part of this is sounding eerily familiar. As the Three Families plunge the world into a global recession (see?), the frazzled and largely impotent Torchwood team has no choice but to strike a bargain with the devil himself. We're assuming that last part is metaphorical, but on this show, you never know. John Barrowman and Eve Myles star in the new episode "The Gathering." Also, possibly, Satan, but probably not.
