Fringe - The Hollywood Reporter: Seth Gabel Interview
Source: The Hollywood Reporter [follow link for complete interview]
THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER: From 'Fringe' to 'Arrow': Seth Gabel on the Appeals of Sci-Fi
After wrapping his dual role as Lincoln Lee on Fox's "Fringe," the "Nip/Tuck" actor returns to the genre as a Joker-type villain on the CW.
1/29/2013
by Lesley Goldberg
Mere weeks after Fringe ended its run on Fox, Seth Gabel returns to the small screen with a role as a Joker-type villain on the CW's breakout Arrow.
... During Wednesday's episode of the freshman drama starring Stephen Amell as Starling City's savior, Gabel plays The Count, a charismatic drug dealer peddling Vertigo. It's the same drug that has landed Ollie's kid sister Thea (Willa Holland) in hot water with the law after she busted for using.
"The Count is a trixter and he comes from the street. Most of the people on Oliver's list are white-collar villains … but The Count is unique in that he relishes the opportunity to to prove his own dominance over any force in Starling City and as a force of the street," Gabel tells The Hollywood Reporter. "He feels like he can take on anything, including the Arrow..."
Arrow airs Wednesday at 8/7C on The CW.
Seth Gabel can also be seen in Fringe airing on The Science Channel. CLICK HERE FOR THE FEBRUARY 1, 2013 MINITHON SCHEDULE.

Supernatural - TV Equals: Ty Olsson Interview

TV EQUALS: Supernatural Chat with Ty Olsson: “The relationship between Dean and Benny is genuine”
By Michelle Carlbert
January 29, 2013
Hey there folks! Well Supernatural has been back for a couple of weeks and if you’ve been reading my reviews, then you know that I’ve found the last couple of episodes a bit of a roller coaster ride. Now that Sam has given up Amelia and Dean has abandoned Benny, I know some of us are wondering what’s going to happen to our new favorite vampire.
A few weeks ago, I had to pleasure of chatting with Ty Olsson, who plays Benny on the show. In part one of our interview, we talked mostly about his movie (and possible TV show, someday) Borealis. In part two of our exclusive interview, Ty talked about Supernatural, including what it’s been like for him to play Benny, the fans’ reaction to his character and what he hopes to see for Benny in the future.
First up, I asked Ty whether or not we fans could trust Benny. He said, “That’s a common theme apparently. The writers have certainly done what they do best with the Benny character because they get everyone to ask that very same question: ‘Am I just being beguiled by his character and his charm or is he going to break my heart and hurt my poor Dean?’”
... Continuing on the same subject, Ty added, “The writers know you guys and they are toying with you. The short answer is I don’t know. My instinct is that I think the relationship between Dean and Benny is genuine. There is no subterfuge, there is no trickery going on. That’s why my gut is telling me from what I know and from how I’ve played Benny. I think there is a genuine bond there. To me it is unquestionable that there is a brotherhood and that there is nothing to worry about.
The problem is, even saying that, is that is that the people in our lives who hurt us the most are the people who are closest to us. The ones who love us are the ones who cause us the most pain unfortunately. So I’m not saying that about Benny but just the fact that their relationship by nature divides the brothers, on some level it causes pain and that’s the bottom line. That doesn’t necessarily mean that Benny’s being malicious...”

Stargate Atlantis - GateWorld: Torri Higginson Interview

GATEWORLD: FORWARD AND ONWARD
Tuesday - January 29, 2013
by Chad Colvin
Over the course of Stargate‘s history on television screens, several characters (many of them fan favorites) have made their final exits through one form of death or another. We don’t mean a Daniel Jackson-style death where it doesn’t stick and by the end of the episode (or season) he’s alive and well. We mean the ones that were permanent. Be it the end of that character’s story arc or merely trying to serve a dramatic function, those deaths stayed with us. Skaara in SG-1‘s “Full Circle”. Janet Frasier in the same series’ “Heroes” two-parter. And although he eventually returned through the miracle of sci-fi storytelling, it doesn’t make Carson Beckett‘s final scenes in “Sunday” any less gut-wrenching or emotional. And that last event would make Atlantis‘ next character loss even more profound.
When last GateWorld talked with actress Torri Higginson, who portrayed Atlantis’ civilian expedition leader Dr. Elizabeth Weir, it was while she was just finishing up the first handful of episodes in Season Four — a season that would reduce her character to a recurring status before essentially killing her off. And while her exit from the series (both on-screen and off) may not have gone as smoothly as anyone would have liked, time heals all wounds and Higginson’s (who went on to more mainstream fare like NCIS) are no exception.
After a long absence from our pages, we finally caught up with Torri last fall at the Chicago Offical Stargate Convention hosted by Creation Entertainment. In our interview, Torri Higginson chats with us about the current state of the franchise, her personal feelings on Weir’s unceremonious exit, the impact of the character and the franchise itself, what she’s up to currently, and more!
... GateWorld: You’ve kept pretty busy since, but unlike a lot of other Canadian actors, it seems most of what you’ve done since Atlantis has been more contemporary work as opposed to genre. Do you have a preference between the two? I mean, even going back to the earlier days, you were doing projects like the TekWar films with Greg Evigan and William Shatner up through a certain point … but it seems like a vast majority of what you’re doing now isn’t necessarily so much in that realm where it’s so prevalent as far as what films …
Torri Higginson: "Yeah. I always joke and say, “I’m actor. I’ll take whatever they offer me.”
I know when I left Stargate, I kinda felt … I’ve always been surprised that it … and it’s changed now, but even six years ago, when I was still doing Stargate, I couldn’t get a good agent in Los Angeles. Like, there was kind of this division within Hollywood about sci-fi and the primetime “regular” stuff. And people didn’t give it as much respect, I think, as they do now or as it was due.
I think I was … it was suggested to me when I was no longer doing Stargate and I was back in L.A. to try to do stuff that it was not sci-fi. Just to not get pigeonholed into one thing.
I mean, I sort of … it’s been quite thin – the jobs for me the last few years. I’ve been doing theater. And I’ve been doing more writing than anything else. So, at this point, I mean, I would love to do either. I had a really great, fun job doing Stonehenge Apocalypse, which was – and I’m sorry to Syfy and Paul Ziller, who I adore, adore – was not a great show. But it was fun. It was a lot of fun. And I kind of like doing those things. I have a history of doing a lot of bad action B-movies in Toronto. And at the time, there’d be a part of me going, “Oh, this isn’t exactly Shakespeare. What am I doing? Why am I doing this?” But mostly you just feel, “This is really great fun and we’re not saving the world so why not just enjoy it?” And when people are working on those shows, they’re just doing it for fun, which is refreshing..."

Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome - Syfy Video: Trailer - Airs Feb 10 '13
Source: Syfy
BATTLESTAR GALACTICA: BLOOD AND CHROME - SYFY VIDEO: TRAILER - AIRS SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 10, 2013 AT 9/8C
The story you never knew of William Adama. Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome premieres Sunday Feb. 10 at 9/8c.
Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome (a prequel to the critically acclaimed hit series, Battlestar Galactica) takes place in the midst of the First Cylon war. As the battle between humans and their creation, the sentient robotic Cylons, rages across the 12 colonial worlds, a young, talented fighter pilot, William Adama (Luke Pasqualino), finds himself assigned to one of the most powerful battlestars in the Colonial fleet: the Galactica. Full of ambition and in pursuit of the intense action that the Cylon war promises, Adama quickly finds himself at odds with his co-pilot, the battle-weary officer Coker (Ben Cotton). With only 47 days left in his tour of duty, Coker desires an end to battle just as much as Adama craves the start of it. Though they clash at first, the two men forge an unlikely bond when a routine escort mission with an enigmatic passenger (Lili Bordan) turns dangerous and becomes a pivotal one for the desperate fleet.
Cast includes Luke Pasqualino, Ben Cotton, Jill Teed, Lili Bordán, Mike Dopud, Joseph Falsetti, Adrian Holmes, Karen LeBlanc, Toby Levins, Brian Markinson, Carmen Moore, Ty Olsson, John Pyper-Ferguson, Zak Santiago, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Allison Warnyca and Jordan Weller.

... FX's Justified (10/9c) is really burning through the subplots. Having "handled" Reverend Billy with a venomous snake last week, Boyd Crowder now turns his attention to repentant tramp Ellen May, who has wandered back "home" from salvation but may be harboring too many secrets to be trusted. And where's Raylan? Teaming with Rachel to track down sexy bartender Lindsay, who took off with the "goodly sum" of cash from his underwear drawer and is back on the road with her bruiser of a husband like a penny-ante version of Bonnie and Clyde. There will be shooting before it's over, but it's funnier than it sounds...
