Sean Connery stars as intrepid African explorer Allan Quatermain, and Naseeruddin Shah is the mysterious submariner Captain Nemo. The film lacks the bite and intensity of the Alan Moore-Kevin O'Neill graphic novels upon which it is based. Connery also gets a credit as executive producer.
