The conflicts get more unavoidable and intense this week, as the various rulers move their pawns, and other pieces in their land-grabbing, iron-throne-seeking chess board, closer to the center – and to battle. Emilia Clarke’s Daenarys is only one of the people maneuvering boldly to claim the right to rule all the kingdoms – but she’s the only one with dragons, which she’s fully prepared to use, making her this fantasy story’s one potential superpower. “The time to strike is now,” she says, and though this is a game of thrones, she’s not playing around.
