HAVEN - THE MORTON REPORT: Coming Of Age: Interview With Haven's Lucas Bryant
By Steve Eramo
July 30, 2011
When Nathan Wuornos became a police officer in Haven, he was well aware that some of his investigations would be unusual in nature. Just how unusual, though, depends on whether or not you were born and raised in the small coastal Maine town. Some of its residents are among “The Troubled,” and have supernatural abilities that tend to manifest themselves in extremely strange and dangerous ways. Nathan himself is one of The Troubled and suffers from idiopathic neuropathy, a condition that prevents him from physically feeling anything.
Throughout Haven’s first season, Nathan and his new partner, former FBI Agent Audrey Parker, risked their lives countless times to help these poor unfortunate souls. In the season one finale “Spiral,” Max Hansen, returns to town, having served jail time for the 1983 killing of the Colorado Kid. His subsequent death, by Chief of Police Garland Wuornos, also a Troubled, leads Nathan to discover that Max was, in fact, his biological father. Chief Wuornos sent Hansen to prison for murdering a family and then adopted Nathan and raised him as his own. Although it was a very confusing time for our hero, it was quite an exhilarating one acting-wise for Lucas Bryant, who plays Nathan...
“When I first read the script for the season one finale I was pretty shocked and surprised as well as excited,” says Bryant. “The information about Nathan’s real and adoptive fathers was something that the writers had kept from me, on purpose, I imagine, and also because I didn’t want to know things that I didn’t need to know. I knew they were putting some big stuff in that particular episode, but I had no idea exactly what.
“So that was all wonderful, and it was the type of episode that Emily Rose [Audrey Parker] and I really wanted to make in the first place. It had a lot to do with the characters and their stories as well as the history of the town, and the bigger questions of what’s going on there. Of course we had an investigation of a Trouble, but a lot of this episode dealt with issues that impacted the characters’ overall storylines, so we were both very excited to be doing that..."

... Dungeons & Dragons
6:30 PM, SYFY
Since D&D has been around for decades, there was a serious sense of anticipation for this movie. And then people saw it. And then people sank into a collective bitter funk. Even non-RPG gamers thought the master copy of this film should be incinerated. Plot: Bad guy (Jeremy Irons) is out for empress's (Thora Birch) blood, and she can only be saved by an earnest young man and his obnoxious friend (Justin Whalin, Marlon Wayans). Verdict: Birch does the worst acting job ever seen. Ever.

FALLING SKIES - CRAVE ONLINE: Peter Shinkoda Interview
The 2ND Mass' resident badass takes us inside his character and the first season of TNT's hit series.
By Blair Marnell
July 29, 2011
For over twenty years, Peter Shinkoda has been active as an actor in film and television with an impressive list of credits, including appearances in "The Dead Zone," "Paycheck," "Andromeda," "Supernatural," "Stargate SG-1," "Dark Angel" and "I, Robot."
More recently, Shinkoda has landed one of the lead supporting roles on TNT's hit series, "Falling Skies." In the series, Shinkoda portrays Dai, one of the fiercest warriors in the 2ND Mass and the confidant of Tom Mason (Noah Wyle).
Earlier this month, Crave Online spoke with Shinkoda about his role on "Falling Skies," what's coming up for his character in the future, his previous appearances in "Mortal Kombat: Legacy" and "Power Rangers" as well as an interesting discussion about the live action American adaptation of "Akira..."
... Crave Online: Tell us about Dai, who is this guy?
Peter Shinkoda: "Dai is the civilian survivor from the initial attack who, according to the Dark Horse "Falling Skies" comics, crosses paths with Noah Wyle’s character Tom Mason previous to when the show actually starts. Just a few months previous to [the pilot]. And they become tight. He’s the most trusted fighter in Tom Mason’s crew, so Dai is heavily relied upon when it comes to military operations. And he also offers an ear to Tom Mason when he has to confide his personal feelings. Which he doesn’t do much; he’s always preoccupied with playing the father role to his sons.
After about a month of playing the military leader and keeping that stoic face, maintaining a certain level of strength and confidence, Tom has moments where he does have things to say, and he can say them to me..."

EUREKA - THE MORTON REPORT: Getting His Geek On: Interview With Eureka's Neil Grayston
"Fargo" speaks.
By Steve Eramo
July 29, 2011
For the past five years, TV audiences have come to know Dr. Douglas Fargo as one of the resident brainiacs employed by Global Dynamics and living in the small Pacific Northwest town of Eureka, where you can always expect the unexpected. Like many of the brilliant minds working at GD, Fargo has experienced his fair share of scientific mishaps. In fact, the phrase “inappropriately pushed buttons” appears 38 times in his personnel files.
At the beginning of Eureka’s fourth season Fargo - minus his clothes - was transported along with four other residents back to 1947, which is the year the government founded Eureka as a top secret research facility. He and the others eventually made it back to the present, but to an alternate timeline where Fargo is now the director of GD. With some behind-the-scenes help from his friends, he has managed to step up to the plate and admirably fill his predecessor’s much-loathed shoes.
Unfortunately, poor Fargo lands right back in hot water when, in the show’s season 4.5 opener “Liftoff,” Zane Donovan accidentally launches them into Earth’s orbit onboard an antiquated space capsule with limited air. Despite his character’s life-threatening dilemma, actor Neil Grayston, who plays Fargo, could not have enjoyed himself more...
“Most of that episode was just me and Niall Matter [Zane Donovan] in the space capsule,” notes Grayston. “We spent three or four days in that confined space and it got really warm in there because of the lights and just the fact that the capsule itself was so small. There are a couple of scenes where Niall and I are sweating, and that’s not pretend make-up sweat. That was us dabbing ourselves with towels before the take in order to get all the sweat off us.
“So it was hot in there but super fun. I mean, Niall and I are good friends. The two of us work well together and we have the same vibe in terms of how to get the job done. Niall and I actually ended up working together a lot during season 4.5 as well as in the fifth season, which we’re currently shooting. He and I sort of jokingly call ourselves ‘The Kings of Second Unit,’ because if there’s a B-story involving Zane and Fargo in an episode, it’s typically going to be shot during a second unit day with just the two of us, which is always a blast..."

TORCHWOOD: MIRACLE DAY - FLICKCAST: SDCC11 Exclusive Interview: Bill Pullman Talks ‘Torchwood’, His ‘Independence Day’ Speech
by Matt Raub
Jul 29 2011
Bill Pullman is one of those famed actors who’s resume has some of the weirdest stuff you’ll ever see on it. From playing the lead in a Mel Brooks spoof about Star Wars, to the troop-rallying president in Michael Bay’s Independence Day, and even to the child-killing death row inmate in Torchwood: Miracle Day, it seems like no role can disinterest the man.
Pullman joined the cast of Torchwood this season as they finally make their way to American soil and debut on Starz with Miracle Day. This time, he’s neither a wise-cracking hero nor the flag-waving veteran. This time he’s a stone cold killer...

'CONAN THE BARBARIAN' - PEOPLE MAGAZINE: Jason Momoa: How He Bulked Up for Conan the Barbarian
By Jessica Wedemeyer
Friday July 29, 2011
Getting in shape for the lead role in the remake of Conan the Barbarian was no easy task for Jason Momoa.
The Honolulu-born Game of Thrones actor and model endured a grueling 6-hour daily exercise regimen to play the iconic action hero played onscreen in the '80s by Arnold Schwarzenegger.
"We do two hours of sword work first ... then have a little break, eat a broiled chicken, do two hours of weight lifting and have cardio," Momoa, 31, told reporters at a Comic-Con event in San Diego. "Then I'd go home and basically the best thing I could do is sleep and rest..."

WAREHOUSE 13 - BLOGOMATIC 3000: Exclusive Allison Scagliotti Interview
by Phil
July 29, 2011
Warehouse 13 is heading back to UK television screens next week, with the third season set to air on Syfy from Thursday. We’re huge fans of the show here at Blogomatic3000 HQ so, of course, a review of the first episode is forthcoming. But until then you just have to make do with this interview. Yeah right Make do? This interview, with Warehouse 13′s Claudia, aka actress Allison Scagliotti, is more like a dream come true for myself – its just a shame Warehouse 13 superfan and B3K writer Aaron MK didn’t get the chance to do this one. I know it would’ve made his year!
... Q: How does Claudia grow over Season 3?
Allison Scagliotti: "In this season, at least to start with, Claudia’s expected a promotion. With Myka’s departure she seems to feel that she’s next in line to become Pete’s partner but she’s given opportunities away from Pete to prove herself as a Warehouse agent. This whole season has for me been about telling the Allison truth in the context of the show, which is being a young adult and really defining one’s self in the context of the group that you’re in. For Claudia, that’s this misfit group of Warehouse agents who save the world every day and for me, it’s the madcap cast of characters in a film studio, and it’s really not that different! I’ve had the opportunity to be funny, mad-ass and emotional in one season, which has been a treat for me just to see where Claudia goes..."
In the UK, Warehouse 13 (Season 3) is on Thursdays from 4th August at 9pm on Syfy. In the US, airs Mondays at 9/8C on Syfy.
