Originally from Dallas, Texas, Brian J. Smith is a graduate of the four-year acting program at The Julliard School in New York City. Since graduation, Smith has starred in the feature film “The War Boys,” written by award-winning playwright Naomi Wallace and Bruce McLeod, and appeared in the thriller “Redhook.” Both pictures were released in 2009.
In addition to his leading role as First Lieutenant Matthew Scott on Syfy’s “Stargate Universe” series, Smith starred on the ITV television movie “Poirot: Murder on the Orient Express” and appeared on NBC’s “Law & Order.” Smith performed on Broadway in “Come Back, Little Sheba” opposite Epatha Merkerson, and off-Broadway in “Good Boys,” “True” and “Three Changes,” opposite Dylan McDermott and Maura Tierney.
