Catelyn (Michelle Fairley) makes a deal with the untrustworthy Walder Frey (David Bradley); Robb (Richard Madden) has his first success on the battlefield; Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) finds himself in an unfamiliar environment; Jon (Kit Harington) discovers Maester Aemon's (James Cosmo) secret; Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) goes to extremes to help Drogo (Jason Momoa).

Meanwhile, Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) makes his presence felt as the Hand of the King, though not necessarily to the satisfaction of others in the royal court; Gendry (Joe Dempsie) is shocked by Arya's (Maisie Williams) revelation on the road north; and Davos (Liam Cunningham) seeks naval power from an old acquaintance, the pirate Salladhor Saan (Lucian Msamati).
