A Daily Guide To Notable Shows

... Fringe

9-10 PM FOX

The final season has transported us into the year 2036, and Joshua Jackson's Peter and Anna Torv's Olivia are now fighting the fascistic Observers who've taken over the world, alongside their grown daughter, Etta (a steely Georgina Haig). Walter (John Noble) tries to regain access to his Harvard lab, which has been commandeered by the evil baldies, and the series gains a layer of poignance as we see the emotional toll that being part of the Resistance has taken on Etta. Fringe seems to be going out as alt-world fantasy/sci-fi at its most tough-minded yet humanistic.
