SCIFI AND TV TALK: Warehouse 13's Joanne Kelly - The Brave, the Bold and the Beautiful

Becoming trapped in Lewis Carroll’s mirror, aged way beyond her years, swapping bodies with a coworker, traveling back in time to 1961 – over the past four years, such extraordinary experiences and many more have become part of Myka Bering’s everyday life. As an agent for a top secret U.S. government facility, it is her job to help recover and neutralize historical Artifacts that possess powers making them dangerous to the general public.
This particular line of work is not without its risks, which Myka is well aware of. Both she and her partner, Agent Pete Lattimer, have teetered on the edge of death more than once, and towards the end of Warehouse 13’s third season, fellow agent Steve Jinks was, in fact, killed in cold blood while on an undercover assignment. Although this tragic situation was reversed this year and Steve brought back to life thanks to an Artifact, finding his lifeless body in the episode Emily Lake was unsettling for Myka as well as the actress who plays her, Joanne Kelly.
“That was a difficult scene to shoot, I think, for everyone,” recalls Kelly. “It was just upsetting. Usually the show is very light, and that day was not what I would call a light day work-wise. I also have to say that Allison Scagliotti [Agent Claudia Donovan] and Eddie McClintock [Pete Lattimer] did such wonderful work that day. I was so proud of them..."
Warehouse 13 airs Monday at 9/8C on Syfy.
