Current murders in Mystic Falls remind Damon (Ian Somerhalder) of a similar crime spree in 1912, when a beautiful vampire named Sage (guest star Cassidy Freeman) showed him a new way to exist. Elena and Matt (Nina Dobrev, Zach Roerig) resort to breaking and entering to prove that Dr. Fell (Torrey Devitto) is a killer, while Rebekah (guest star Claire Holt) becomes suspiciously fixated on finding an old town landmark in the new episode "1912."
