Kyra Sedgwick's ace homicide detective Brenda Johnson investigates a "Santacide" when a Christmas-village Kris Kringle is killed while zip-lining into a chimney ("Ho-ho-noooo!"). The prime suspect in the sabotage: "Santa Jack," played by Fred Willard with a twisted twinkle. "I take my job as role model very seriously," says the chain-smoking, booze-chugging bad Santa. The murderer is obvious, but the laughs are inspired. As Sedgwick nears the end of her Emmy-winning run, The Closer has given her a going-away gift of A-game episodes.
