A Pacific Northwest town is full of shape-shifters who can transform themselves into werewolves, which might interest a Seattle police officer (Lou Diamond Phillips) who arrived there searching for his missing girlfriend (Mia Kirshner).

Kanin (Lou Diamond Phillips) believes he's close to finding Ruby (Mia Kirshner) when he tracks a mysterious figure into a barn and discovers a silver amulet that matches a pair of Ruby's earrings; Cates (Bruce McGill), the alpha-male wolf leader, prepares to die, and worries about who will take his place.

Luke (Paul Wesley) and his friends nearly cause a truck driver to be killed when they attack his vehicle, which was carrying hazardous waste; Kanin (Lou Diamond Phillips) comes down with a virus and experiences a series of bizarre hallucinations after Sherman (Graham Greene) gives him some spiked homemade soup; Creed (Scott Bairstow) tries to get town officials to approve his plans to build a privately run correctional facility.

Miranda (Kellie Waymire) is attacked and raped by an unseen assailant, and all evidence points to Tyler (Scott Bairstow); Sophia (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) experiences the first signs that she may belong to the wolf clan; Cates (Paul Wesley) releases Ruby (Mia Kirshner) from confinement and tells her she's free to go.

04:00 PM If These Wolves Could Talk
A dim-witted opportunist (Sam Anderson) cages Ruby (Mia Kirshner) in wolfen form and plans to expose her to subscribers of his Internet site; Luke (Paul Wesley) grows jealous when Sophia (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) starts seeing someone else.
