JVA is both a grass-root organization and an internationally respected brand that is based both in Los Angeles, California, and in its hometown Paris, France.
James Cameron, Harrison Ford, George Lucas are among the recipients of the Jules Verne Awards.
Your journey begins as we are about to celebrate the 20th ANNIVERSARY of JVA in 2012.
This year, the Festival pays tribute to Richard Dean Anderson, the legendary heroes of MacGyver and [Jack O'Neill] of Stargate SG-1. The star is at the confluence of two worlds that are at the heart of the Festival and its rationale, in the tradition of Jules Verne: the imaginary and the preservation of nature.
For many years, Richard Dean Anderson has been committed to the environment preservation for protection of the planet, and marine environments. [Mr. Anderson] supports the action Captain Paul Watson and Sea Shepherd. [His} commitment is an example for all those who put their celebrity and their means at the service of a vital cause which we are all, as human beings, the relevant main: Earth.

AMANDA TAPPING will receive a JULES VERNE AWARD for [her] humanitarian commitment. On this occasion, the Festival, in partnership with the Syfy and NRJ 12 string, officially launch the season 4 in France of the SANCTUARY series.
