It is smokin’ today on the set Syfy’s Alphas. Really, it is. The show’s cast and crew are on-location in the woods of Ancaster, Ontario filming scenes for the season two story Alphaville, and the SFX (special effects) team is setting the mood by pumping smoke in and around the trees and nearby campsite.

A smiling Warren Christie emerges from a huge cloud of smoke and takes a break in between scenes for a chat. In the first season one Alphas, his character of Cameron Hicks - whose Alphas ability of Hyperkinesis gives him superhuman reflexes, accuracy and timing – was used as a pawn to commit a murder. He subsequently helped clear his name and catch the rogue Alpha behind the assassination plot. In doing so, Cameron became a part of Dr. Lee Rosen’s Alphas team.

Although initially reluctant, he slowly began to settle into his new line of work, but in the season finale, his world and that of his teammates was turned upside-down when Rosen made the existence of Alphas public. It has to do mainly with the fallout from Rosen outing the Alphas. So when our little family came back together again this year, we all pretty much hit the ground running. We had a great script [Wake-Up Call] to start off season two with, and everybody drove right in. It was like we never left...
