SANCTUARY - 2012 LEO AWARDS WINNERS
The 2012 Leo Awards were held on May 25/26 in Vancouver, BC, Canada. The Leo Awards are a project of the Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Foundation of British Columbia, Canada. The Motion Picture Arts & Sciences Foundation of British Columbia is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to celebrate and promote the achievements of the British Columbia film and television industry through the presentation of an annual awards program – the Leo Awards.
This year, Sanctuary's Amanda Tapping and Robin Dunne were the hosts of the Gala Awards Ceremony on May 26.
Sanctuary was honored with 18 nominations, and won four awards in the following categories:
Visual Effects
- Matt Belbin, Colin Ebbeson, Lee Wilson, Sebastein Bergeron, Les Quinn
- Sanctuary - Chimera
Production Design
- Bridget McGuire - Sanctuary - Tempus
Costume Design
- Christina McQuarrie - Sanctuary - Tempus
Guest Performance by a Female
- Pascale Hutton - Sanctuary - Fugue
Other SciFi series winners included:
STARGATE UNIVERSE
Make-Up
- Rebecca Lee, April Boyes, Ceilidh Dunn - Stargate Universe - Epilogue
Additionally, Sanctuary's Ryan Robbins won Best Lead Performance by a Male in a Feature Length Drama for Marilyn, and Christopher Heyerdahl won Best Performance in a Youth or Children’s Program or Series for R.L. Stine's The Haunting Hour - Fear Never Knocks.
