Not a cheesy sharktopus in sight, as Syfy's Saturday-night movie franchise turns to the world of video games for inspiration. Intended as a narrative bridge between the Red Factions: Guerilla game and the Armageddon sequel to be released Tuesday, Origins stars Stargate Universe's Brian J. Smith as Jake Mason, the last surviving son of the rebel hero (Robert Patrick) who led the Martian colonies to freedom. Jake's mission: to seek justice against the enemies that killed his mother and kidnapped his sister 12 years ago.
