TV LINE: Once Upon a Time's Barbara Hershey: Prepare to Learn Why the Evil Queen Hates Snow White

This Sunday on Once Upon a Time (ABC, 8/7c), flashbacks to fairytale land will introduce viewers to the Evil Queen-to-be’s mother, Cora (Barbara Hershey), in a storyline that will at long last reveal why Regina (played by Lana Parrilla) holds such a grim grudge against Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin)...

Emma (Jennifer Morrison) continues her exhaustive search for evidence that will prove Mary Margaret’s (Ginnifer Goodwin) innocence in the murder of David’s wife, Kathryn. Meanwhile, in the fairytale land that was and before evil blackened her soul, Regina (Lana Parrilla) must choose between betraying her mother, Cora (Barbara Hershey), and marrying for true love, or betrothing royalty and living a regal – but loveless – life; and the event that caused the Evil Queen to loathe Snow White is revealed.

Guest stars include Anastasia Griffith, Meghan Ory, Tony Perez, Giancarlo Esposito, Alan Dale, Barbara Hershey, Noah Bean, Richard Schiff and Bailee Madison.

THE INDEPENDENT: Q&A with the cast of ‘Doctor Who’

Last weekend the first-ever Doctor Who convention was held at the Millennium Centre in Cardiff. It was the first of its kind since the show returned in 2005. Stars Matt Smith, Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill, along with Executive Producer Caroline Skinner, shared their thoughts on conventions, action figures and the forthcoming series...

... Q: Karen, Arthur when you leave the show, do you then become complete outsiders and Matt won’t be allowed to tell you anything at all?

Karen Gillan: (ADDRESSES MATT) "Well, I guess that’s your call as to whether you disclose any information."

Matt Smith: "Well, I think that if anyone on the planet who you could tell ‘Doctor Who’ stuff to, you can probably tell Karen and Arthur because they know the deal that you can’t tell anyone."

KG: "But I don’t want to know."

Arthur Darvill: "I want to watch it as a viewer without knowing it. Finally, I can watch it without knowing what’s going to happen."

KG: "Although, I sort of want to know what’s going to happen."

MS: "If I knew what was happening for the 50th anniversary which I don’t, you’d want to know that for instance?"

Caroline Skinner: "We might not tell you."

KG: "Come on guys, you could just lie to us at least!"

When an unidentified object is shot down over the waters of the Pacific Northwest, an excavation team is sent in to retrieve it. Moments later, a dark cloud spreads through the water and empty wetsuits rise up, floating ominously on the surface—leaving no trace of the people behind. As Seattle officials inspect the debris, the sky grows turbulent, seemingly instigated by the smoke coming off the wreckage. Major Emma Peterson (Ona Grauer: V, Stargate Universe) is handed the task of identifying the threat and securing the city, while her fiancé, scientist Tom Reynolds (Esai Morales: Caprica, 24), keeps an eye on their two teenage children. However, the scientist in him is unable to ignore the strange occurrences taking place around him and he sends the teens home, unaware that he is putting them directly into the path of danger. Now the family must find each other in the midst of the chaos and work together to put a stop to the storm before it spreads beyond their control and annihilates the planet!
