Opening this weekend is Silent Hill: Revelation 3D. The film is a sequel to 2006’s Silent Hill, and centers on a daughter and father who are on the run from dangerous forces that remain unknown to the young girl. When her father (Sean Bean) goes missing, the young girl (Adelaide Clemens) must set out to discover what happened. When she becomes trapped in a demonic world, the girl learns she’s not who she thinks she is. Silent Hill: Revelation 3D also stars Kit Harington, Carrie-Anne Moss, Radha Mitchell, and Malcolm McDowell. For more on the film, here’s Matt recap of the NYCC panel, some clips, a TV spot, and the trailer.

Shortly before his panel at Comic-Con, I got to sit down with Kit Harington for an exclusive video interview. History also looms large on tonight's episode of CBS' CSI (10/9c), which is the series' 277th, though it rarely feels like it these days, thanks to a successful repopulating of the show last season when Ted Danson and Elisabeth Shue took top billing. This week, however, belongs to one of the core regulars: Eric Szmanda as lab rat-turned-investigator Greg Sanders, who's shaken when he recognizes this week's victim du jour: a female music journalist found "cut to ribbons" inside the lid of a grand piano dumped in the desert. Turns out they collaborated, and dated, a while back when he was researching his book on "Sin City Secrets," and he figures she must have stumbled across a new secret so juicy it cost her life. The trail leads back to 1966 Rat Pack-era Las Vegas, and the legend of a gifted pianist said to have been killed by a local mobster. Music is central to this puzzle, including a soundtrack largely indebted to Frank Sinatra, and CSI's ingenuity is such that clues are provided by sources as current as a Shazam-like smart-phone app and as vintage as a vinyl LP...

Meanwhile, in the fairytale land that was, Regina finds herself failing at learning the dark arts from a dark master because something from her past is preventing her from using her magic for evil.

ADAM: In addition to a couple of "aw" moments with Tony during November sweeps — including Ziva reminiscing with her partner about her dead sister Talia — executive producer Gary Glasberg promises a "huge Ziva story" right after the holiday break in January. Although the precise details of the arc are still being hammered out, Glasberg confirms that "it's going to rock Vance's world" and it will feature the return of Michael Nouri as Ziva's father, Eli David.

"What goes down affects everybody and propels us into [the season's next chapter]," Glasberg says. "I think it all sticks to the idea of knocking people down and picking them back up again, emotionally and psychologically."

Unfortunately, the family affair happens on the same night Castle [Nathan Fillion] and Beckett [Stana Katic] are stranded without their phones while protecting a witness from the mob.

"There's some tension because they've had the 'meet the folks' dinner and it hasn't gone particularly well," creator Andrew W. Marlowe tells us. So, what's the problem? "It's about who Martha is versus who Jim is," Marlowe says. "It's a bit of oil and water..."
