DIGITAL SPY: Katee Sackhoff 'Longmire' Q&A: 'Fans don't like it when I act pretty'

Western crime thriller Longmire makes its long-awaited UK debut on TCM this week - the drama stars Robert Taylor (The Matrix) as Wyoming sheriff Walt Longmire and Battlestar Galactica legend Katee Sackhoff as Walt's new deputy Victoria 'Vic' Moretti.

Digital Spy caught up with the lovely Miss Sackhoff to chat about playing Vic, why Longmire is different to other crime shows, and why she chose this role over the lead in fantasy series Once Upon a Time...

... Digital Spy: Do fans approach you now to talk about Longmire as opposed to Battlestar or any of your other roles?

Katee Sackhoff: "They do - this character is a spitfire, which I think is an attitude that the fans like me to have. I don't think they like it when I put a dress on and act all pretty! So it has enough of what they're used to seeing from me for them to be comfortable in watching this new show, even though it's very different.

"I think that there are similarities to Battlestar Galactica though - the question in the show was, what does this limited population do in very tight quarters, when their backs are against the wall and they're fighting for survival. It was a very interesting through-line for Battlestar.

"With this show, it's very similar in the sense that it's wide-open spaces, with very few people, so it has some parallels in... what do people do in these circumstances and how do they act?"

Longmire season two premieres Summer 2013 on A&E TV.
