Nov 16, 2010

TV Guide Magazine's winter sci-fi preview goes on sale this week, and here's some of the scoop we rounded up:

* In Stargate Universe's mid-season finale (November 30), the team stranded aboard Destiny is finally able to fly the alien ship out of its predetermined path — but that could be a bad idea. "On their way, they find a graveyard of damaged ships from a huge, long ago battle," says Brad Wright, exec producer of the Syfy show. "Unfortunately, their arrival on the scene restarts the fight." Colonel Telford (Lou Diamond Phillips), last seen stranded on a hostile alien vessel, is mysteriously back to help with the dire situation.

TV Guide Magazine's winter sci-fi preview goes on sale this week, and here's some of the scoop we rounded up:

* Is Sanctuary's Dr. Helen Magnus (Amanda Tapping) a murderess? Fans of the Syfy series will learn that the kindly, 158-year-old scientist was forced to kill her fellow Oxford student Adam Worth (Ian Tracey) back in the Victorian era. Now this same man — a genius psychopath and the inspiration for Jekyll and Hyde — has time-warped to the present to raise hell. Creator Damian Kindler says, "Magnus must make a deal with the devil because Adam has information about Hollow Earth — an entire world that has been hidden from us for a very good reason."

It's the proverbial fork in the road in the second season of Syfy's "Stargate Universe."

Scientist Nicolas Rush (Robert Carlyle) has cracked enough of the ancient ship's code and figured out how to control Destiny. Does that mean they go exploring like Rush wants to or start heading home, as Col Everett Young (Louis Ferreira) argues that they should?

In addition, should they try to ferret out any possible threats to Earth?

Q&A: Robert Knepper talks 'Stargate Universe'

Monday, November 15 2010
By Morgan Jeffery, TV Reporter

Former Prison Break star Robert Knepper is back on our screens in the second season of sci-fi drama Stargate Universe, playing the scheming Lucian Alliance soldier Simeon. Eager to learn more, we caught up with the former T-Bag for a quick chat about his new role, his part in the US remake of Shameless and the triumphant return of his most famous character!

How would you describe your character Simeon on Stargate Universe?

"He doesn't talk much, does he? I love the fact that when I said yes to playing this part, it kind of reminded me of a Steve McQueen-style quiet guy. A strong, tough guy part. On Prison Break, I tended to talk a lot! They gave me a lot of fun words to say. There were always these great mouthfuls of words that would fall out! With Stargate, I knew that this was going to be more of a reacting kind of part, which I actually really loved. Things are simmering for Simeon until he finally explodes. He finally finds the right moment that he can put things into a plan."
