The fact that vampires live forever gives "Vampire Diaries" the excuse to throw in some cool flashback scenes -- and they don't even have to change the actors' makeup! Tonight, Damon takes Elena to New York City for a little vacation, and recalls his hard-partying days there back in the 1970s. (He wasn't Son of Sam, was he?) Meanwhile, back in Mystic Falls, Stefan and Caroline try to convince Klaus to help them look for Silas.
