Amanda Tapping discusses the situation with Sanctuary season five - "can of worms" - 1) Because of the Comcast purchase of NBC/Universal (including Syfy), Syfy didn't pick up Sanctuary season five in time for 2) Sanctuary's financiers (Sanctuary is independently finances, not backed by a studio) got nervous and their studio came up for rental (lease was up), and the rental rate was doubled, and the sets were packed up and 3) so now they're waiting for Syfy and their financiers to talk each other and figure out where to take Sanctuary next.
