Castle and Beckett (Nathan Fillion, Stana Katic) investigate the murder of a treasure hunter that turns out to be connected to an unsolved homicide from 1947. To crack the current case, Castle realizes they have to solve the old one. Flashbacks bring it to life, featuring Castle as a hard-boiled '40s private eye and Beckett as a femme fatale, in the new episode "The Blue Butterfly."
