Where We Left Off: Queen Morgana was defeated after Merlin spilled her cup of life, which effectively eradicated her immortal army. Arthur found Camelot and its Round Table, Uther was freed from the dungeon, and Merlin placed a powerful sword in a stone.
What's Next: Surprise! Morgana returns stronger than ever and kills one of her own to open a rift to the spirit world. The Dorocha — hellish creatures that spill through — quickly wreak havoc and leave corpses in their wake, and only another major sacrifice from the good guys can close the rift. Also this season, we'll discover that someone close to Arthur is a traitor, Merlin falls into Morgana's hands, and Arthur learns what it's like to be king.
