... The Pastor's Wife
8-10 PM Lifetime
Rose McGowan is famed for her strong, often oversexed roles, but here she strays into unfamiliar territory as meek, abused wife Mary, who gets mad as hell and kills her overbearing pastor husband (Michael Shanks) in cold blood. Based on a true story, Wife is a classic Lifetime tale with its woman-in-peril bent, soft focus, and moralistic undertones. Even though the real events went down just five years ago, the movie feels dated, and the only things that pull it into the present are interspersed news reports from the polarizing Nancy Grace. Still, in the Lifetime-movie universe, this Wife isn't half bad.
