During a trip with Klaus (Joseph Morgan) to Chicago, Stefan (Paul Wesley) is reunited with a vampire (Claire Holt) who was interested in him decades ago and is still carrying a torch for him. A flashback to the 1920s has him confronting a shocking time in his past. Damon and Elena (Ian Somerhalder, Nina Dobrev) get a tip about Stefan and Klaus' whereabouts and try to track them down in the new episode "The End of the Affair."
