Celebrity chef Kerry Simon and Eric Close, star of CBS spy drama CHAOS, find common ground around a groaning table
IT HAD ALL VANISHED, to quote Eric Close’s last hit TV series, Without a Trace. The seared shishito peppers; the charred edamame; the housemade hummus and flatbread; the lump crab and tuna roll; the justly acclaimed meat loaf (a group of 14 high rollers from Las Vegas had once flown by private jet just to enjoy the dish); the bricked organic chicken, lamb tagine and sushi “pizza.”
A couple of hours earlier when Close and his wife, Keri, had arrived at LA Market, celebrity chef and Iron Chef America champion Kerry Simon’s new restaurant in downtown Los Angeles, Simon greeted the pair with a question: “What can I cook for you?” “Anything and everything,” Close responded. “We like it all...”
